About this position: General Maintenance Worker                Location – Syracuse, NY

Wage/Salary Range: $20 - $35 per hr.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Generator Maintenance
• General maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as:

• • Painting
  • Carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Masonry
  • Electrical Work

• Changing filters and belts in Air Handlers
• Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, lights
• Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
• Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

• Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Level of Experience Requirements: Two (5) years’ experience as a general maintenance worker or similar
• Valid Driver’s License

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

• Basic knowledge of general maintenance (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, etc)
• Basic knowledge of troubleshooting
• Good customer service, people skills

Preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

DOT Covered/Safety-Sensitive Role Requirements

• This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

Necessary Physical Requirements

This position requires working outdoors and driving in extreme heat/cold and possibly raining weather. Employees are required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. Lifting and/or moving items weighing 50-75 pounds are required. Use of hand tools to perform the job.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results.
