General Manager

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager to lead our retail operations with energy and enthusiasm. Duties

• Lead and supervise all store activities, ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to company policies.
• Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
• Recruit, interview, and onboard new employees, fostering a welcoming and inclusive workplace culture.
• Manage employee orientation, training, and ongoing development to enhance team performance and engagement.
• Oversee inventory management, stock control, merchandising, pricing strategies, and purchasing decisions to optimize store profitability.
• Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, cash handling procedures, and POS (Point of Sale) system management accurately.
• Supervise shift scheduling, cashiering operations, and customer service interactions to ensure operational efficiency.
• Monitor store metrics such as retail math (sales per square foot), inventory control, and sales management to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, provide feedback, and motivate staff toward achieving excellence in retail sales and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a safe shopping environment by enforcing safety protocols and managing loss prevention initiatives.

Experience

• Proven management experience within the retail industry, particularly in sales team leadership roles such as Assistant Manager or Store Manager.
• Demonstrated success in retail sales management with a focus on achieving sales targets and enhancing customer experience.
• Strong background in inventory control, merchandising, pricing strategies, and operational management.
• Excellent communication skills with proficiency in managerial communication techniques; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for diverse customer bases.
• Experience with POS systems, wireless sales environments, grocery store operations (preferred), and familiarity with basic math for cash handling and inventory calculations.
• Skilled in recruiting, interviewing candidates, employee orientation programs, training & development initiatives.
• Ability to manage budgets effectively while maintaining organizational skills for inventory management and store operations.
• Supervising experience in retail settings that require leadership in managing teams through shift changes and operational challenges.
• Knowledge of marketing strategies relevant to retail environments to boost store visibility and sales performance.
