POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: General Manager

Location: Boerne, TX 

Supervised By: Corporate Management 

Status: Salaried, Exempt

As the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of daily operations, including team leadership, staffing, financial performance, inventory management, and operational excellence. Primary Purpose of the Job

Responsible for the overall success of the location by overseeing daily operations, staffing, customer service, inventory management, financial performance, and compliance. The General Manager hires, trains, manages, and develops employees to ensure customers receive the highest level of service and quality products. This position leads by example, promotes a positive work environment, and drives profitability through operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and sales growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers and ensure a positive customer experience; inform customers of new products, promotions, and specials; answer questions, process transactions, and resolve customer concerns.
  • Prepare and serve beverages and food items as needed while supporting daily operations and assisting staff during peak business periods.
  • Hire, train, coach, supervise, and evaluate employees to ensure operational effectiveness and exceptional customer service.
  • Address employee performance issues promptly and professionally; provide ongoing training, motivation, coaching, and recognition to support employee development and performance.
  • Develop employee work schedules to meet operational needs and customer demand while maintaining labor costs within budgeted targets.
  • Review and approve employee time records and submit payroll information accurately and timely.
  • Manage inventory levels, purchasing, receiving, and vendor relationships to ensure adequate product availability and cost control.
  • Monitor deliveries, shipments, and inventory usage; implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily, weekly, and monthly revenues, expenses, labor costs, and operational metrics.
  • Analyze business performance and implement strategies to increase sales, improve profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure the location maintains a clean, safe, and professional environment for customers and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including health department regulations, food safety requirements, labor laws, fire codes, building codes, and sanitation standards.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, coach, and develop employees to support operational success and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
  • Monitor employee performance and conduct; provide coaching, corrective action, performance evaluations, and recommendations regarding promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Analyze sales, labor, inventory, and other operational metrics to identify trends and implement strategies to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures, loss prevention practices, and Company financial controls.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to promote employee development, customer service excellence, safety awareness, and operational consistency.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures and ensure operational readiness at all times.
  • Promote the business within the local community and support marketing initiatives designed to increase customer traffic and sales.
  • Exercise independent judgment and decision-making authority regarding daily operations, staffing, customer service issues, and business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of management experience in a coffee shop, café, restaurant, retail, hospitality, or similar customer service environment.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, and supervising employees.
  • Experience managing employee schedules, labor costs, inventory, and operational budgets.
  • Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, health department requirements, and applicable workplace safety standards.
  • Strong customer service, leadership, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze business performance metrics and implement strategies to improve sales, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale systems, scheduling software, timekeeping systems, and standard business software applications. 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Current Food Manager Certification or the ability to obtain certification within a specified period following hire.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent use of hands and feet; regularly stand, walk, push, and pull with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Periodically be able to climb or balance; use a ladder.
  • Periodically be able to twist, bend, or reach.
  • Seldom use of hands above head, elbows above shoulders, or working with neck or back bent more than 30 degrees without support and without the ability to vary posture.
  • Seldom required to sit for extended periods.
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.; frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
