Executive Sales Leadership Opportunity

A well-established and growing business solutions organization is seeking a Selling General Manager to lead its Syracuse market. This role offers a unique opportunity for an accomplished sales leader to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, develop strategic client relationships, and build a high-performing sales team.

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial leader who enjoys both leading people and actively participating in business development activities. This position combines executive-level leadership with direct sales responsibility and significant earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Market Development

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive revenue growth and increase market share throughout Central New York.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across corporate, healthcare, higher education, government, and other commercial sectors.
  • Build relationships with business leaders, decision-makers, industry partners, and key influencers.
  • Represent the organization within the local business community and professional associations.

Sales Leadership

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing sales professionals.
  • Establish performance expectations and accountability measures.
  • Conduct regular coaching, pipeline reviews, and performance discussions.
  • Lead forecasting, territory planning, and strategic sales initiatives.

Strategic Business Development

  • Maintain ownership of key customer relationships and strategic accounts.
  • Generate new business opportunities and expand existing partnerships.
  • Lead complex sales presentations, negotiations, and contract discussions.
  • Achieve individual and team revenue objectives.

Customer & Account Management

  • Develop long-term account strategies designed to increase customer retention and revenue growth.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and expansion within existing client organizations.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and service delivery.

Operational Leadership

  • Monitor business performance metrics and sales effectiveness.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure successful project execution and customer outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and CRM reporting.
  • Support budgeting and resource planning initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of consultative B2B sales experience.
  • 3+ years of sales leadership or management experience.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and achieving revenue growth goals.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing multiple opportunities and complex sales cycles.

Preferred

  • Experience selling business solutions, workplace solutions, commercial services, construction-related services, facilities solutions, or similar offerings.
  • Existing relationships within the Syracuse and Central New York business community.
  • Experience leading high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong strategic planning and market development capabilities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $100,000 – $140,000
  • Uncapped Performance Incentive Plan
  • Total Earnings Potential: $150,000 – $250,000+

Travel: Approximately 25–40% throughout the Syracuse and Central New York market.
