General Manager
Lead the Team. Drive the Numbers. Build a Better Company.
Company: Exterior Building Solutions
Location: Ballwin, Missouri / Greater St. Louis area
Exterior Building Solutions is looking for a strong General Manager who can lead people, improve systems, and take ownership of company-wide results.
This is not a role for someone who wants to manage one department or stay inside a narrow job description. You will oversee sales, production, office operations, personnel, customer experience, financial performance, and the day-to-day execution of the company.
You will have clear numbers, real responsibility, and the opportunity to make a visible impact.
About Exterior Building Solutions
Exterior Building Solutions is a local, family-founded exterior remodeling company that has served the area since 2001. We help homeowners with roofing, siding, gutters, soffit and fascia, windows, entry doors, storm restoration, and complete exterior transformations.
Our goal is to give homeowners something they often do not expect from a contractor: clear communication, professional organization, quality craftsmanship, and dependable follow-through.
Our brand promise is simple:
We provide solutions, not excuses.
Why This Role Matters
A great company does not run on good intentions. It runs on strong leaders, clear expectations, accurate numbers, disciplined follow-through, and people who take ownership.
As General Manager, you will bring all parts of the company together. You will help sales sell, production deliver, the office stay organized, customers stay informed, and the company grow profitably.
When something is not working, you will not point fingers. You will find the cause, build the solution, assign responsibility, and follow through until the problem is fixed.
What You Will Own
Lead sales, production, office operations, personnel, customer experience, and overall company execution.- Coach and hold the sales team accountable for closing percentage, follow-up, and approved weekly sales.
- Improve production planning, job readiness, scheduling, communication, and completion times.
- Strengthen collections and reduce the time between job completion and final payment.
- Review company KPIs and financial results with ownership each month.
- Protect profitability, cash flow, and operating discipline.
- Keep payroll, taxes, vendors, and subcontractors current.
- Identify weak processes and replace them with clear, repeatable systems.
- Set expectations for employees and managers, then follow up consistently.
- Address poor performance early, clearly, and respectfully.
- Make sure customers receive the organized, well-communicated experience EBS promises.
- Solve problems across departments before they become expensive emergencies.
- Develop the team so company results do not depend on one person doing everything.
What Success Looks Like
You will be measured by clear company results, including:
Average sales closing percentage.- Average weekly approved sales.
- Accounts-receivable collection time.
- Percentage of projects completed within their target production timeframe.
- Company profitability and cash flow.
- Accurate and timely KPI reporting.
- Team accountability and follow-through.
- The absence of major unresolved operating or financial problems.
Target performance includes a
33%–35.9% closing percentage,
$85,000–$94,999 in average weekly sales,
26–35 days in accounts receivable, and
80%–89.9% of jobs completed within target timeframes. Strong and stretch performance can earn additional compensation.
You May Be a Strong Fit If You
Have led a business, branch, division, or multi-department operation.- Know how to manage through numbers, not guesses.
- Have improved sales, production, cash flow, or profitability in a previous role.
- Can coach good people and confront poor performance.
- Stay calm when several problems hit at once.
- Communicate directly without disrespecting people.
- Know how to build systems that other people can follow.
- Are comfortable making decisions and being accountable for the outcome.
- Understand budgets, profit, cash flow, collections, and labor.
- Care about the customer experience as much as the finished work.
- Want responsibility, clear expectations, and performance-based upside.
- Believe a leader should provide solutions, not excuses.
Experience in roofing, restoration, exterior remodeling, construction, home services, logistics, or field operations is valuable. More important is a proven history of leading people and delivering measurable business results.
