Job Description
The Carpet Center Manager provides direction and maintains standards for all Carpet Center business in Arizona. This includes working with construction, sales and design to determine types of product to be used; negotiation of contracts with companies to be used for installation of products; development of the annual budget; overseeing and ensuring installation quality and dealing with warranty issues when necessary. Will hire, train and manage staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Set guidelines for the operation of the company. Minimum standards are set by construction company, but carpet center manager may decide to set higher standards of job quality. May contact contractors for repair/replacement of unacceptable work quality. Responsible for setting/changing carpet center procedures as needed, such as how supplies/products are coded. These expectations include the management of staff, handling employee issues; processing new hires/pay changes/terminations following applicable policies and guidelines.
- Handle warranty issues above "regular" concerns/issues. May include contacting contractors to repair work. Makes decisions regarding any monetary issues that may come up from a warranty problem.
- Work with the Design Centers to discuss product choices/changes, feasibility of installation etc.
- Budget planning and reconciling bills. Receives monthly statement from accounting for review. Responsible for verifying and approving all operating costs such as gas bills, expense reports, cell phone bills, all orders/supply bills.
- Bid new projects and contract negotiations both with Robson Construction and subcontractors.
- Maintain quality standards for the installation of tile, carpet and wood. Ensure that all contractors are using the appropriate quality of installation products such as glue or cement.
- Meet with Vendors to review new products.
Requirements
- 3 Years as independent flooring contractor or installation manager.
- Registrar of Contractors (ROC) Commercial License or ability to qualify for one.
- Sales knowledge is helpful
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel
