Job Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and success of the restaurant. This role oversees all aspects of operations, including guest experience, financial performance, team development, food and beverage quality, and compliance with company standards.

The General Manager serves as the leader of the restaurant, fostering a culture of accountability, hospitality, teamwork, and excellence. Through strong leadership and operational oversight, the General Manager is responsible for driving sales, managing profitability, developing future leaders, and ensuring an exceptional experience for both guests and team members.


Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations

  • Oversee all Front-of-House and Back-of-House operations to ensure efficient and effective daily execution.

  • Ensure company standards, policies, and procedures are consistently followed.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for guests and employees.

  • Monitor service standards, food quality, and operational execution to ensure consistency across all shifts.

  • Proactively identify and resolve operational challenges to maintain smooth restaurant operations.

Financial Management

  • Manage and be accountable for restaurant profitability and overall financial performance.

  • Monitor sales, labor costs, food costs, beverage costs, controllable expenses, and operating budgets.

  • Analyze financial reports and implement action plans to achieve company goals.

  • Ensure accurate cash handling, deposits, inventory controls, and financial procedures.

  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue, improve efficiencies, and maximize profitability.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop high-performing team members and managers.

  • Create a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and development planning.

  • Address employee concerns and performance issues in partnership with Human Resources when necessary.

  • Develop future leaders and maintain a strong management succession pipeline.


Guest Experience

  • Champion exceptional hospitality and guest satisfaction throughout the restaurant.

  • Ensure all guest concerns are addressed promptly, professionally, and effectively.

  • Foster a guest-first culture that prioritizes service excellence and relationship building.

  • Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements when necessary.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, health department regulations, labor laws, and safety requirements.

  • Maintain all required certifications and operational licenses.

  • Protect company assets through proper controls, procedures, and oversight.

  • Ensure workplace safety standards are consistently maintained.

Strategic Leadership

  • Execute company initiatives, operational programs, and growth strategies.

  • Partner with senior leadership to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

  • Lead management meetings, pre-shift meetings, and operational planning sessions.

  • Drive continuous improvement in service, operations, culture, and profitability.

  • Represent Lynora’s values, culture, and brand within the restaurant and community.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of restaurant management experience, with multi-department leadership experience preferred.

  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, financial management, labor management, and guest service.

  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with restaurant management systems, scheduling platforms, and reporting tools.

  • Food Safety Manager Certification required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
