Lead one of Michigan's most iconic craft brewery restaurants.
Brewery Vivant is seeking an experienced hospitality leader to oversee the daily operations of our brewery-driven restaurant and event venue. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, leading our front-of-house team, driving financial performance, and partnering with our Head Chef to continually elevate our food, beer, and hospitality.

Located inside a renovated historic funeral chapel in Grand Rapids' East Hills neighborhood, Brewery Vivant has been serving guests for more than 15 years. We are known for exceptional hospitality, European-inspired cuisine, world-class beer, and creating meaningful experiences that bring people together.

Annual Sales: Approximately $1.7 Million

Revenue Mix:
  • 45% Food.
  • 45% Beer & Cocktails.
  • 10% Retail.

What You'll Do:
As General Manager, you'll oversee all front-of-house operations while partnering closely with our Head Chef, Events Manager, and ownership to ensure every aspect of the guest experience exceeds expectations.

Leadership:
  • Lead and develop FOH managers and service teams.
  • Build a positive, accountable culture.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop future leaders.
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence during service.

Operations:
  • Ensure exceptional hospitality and service execution.
  • Oversee labor scheduling, inventory, and daily operations.
  • Monitor restaurant profitability and operating metrics.
  • Lead weekly leadership meetings and operational planning.

Financial Performance:
  • Own restaurant P&L performance.
  • Manage labor, beverage, and operating costs.
  • Grow sales through hospitality, beer, retail, and events.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and drive continuous improvement.

Beer & Beverage Leadership:
  • Champion Vivant's craft beer culture.
  • Support beer releases and beverage programming.
  • Train staff on beer knowledge and guest engagement.
  • Improve beverage sales and profitability.

Culinary Partnership:
You'll work alongside our Head Chef as an equal leadership partner by:
  • Supporting menu planning and seasonal features.
  • Reviewing menu performance and profitability.
  • Coordinating successful food and beer launches.
  • Maintaining strong alignment between FOH and BOH.

Events & Marketing:
Partner with our Events Manager to execute private events and public programming, including:
  • Beer releases.
  • Pairing dinners.
  • Community events.
  • Weekly marketing planning.
  • Social media and email campaign execution.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has:
  • 3–5+ years of General Manager experience in a full-service restaurant.
  • Strong financial and P&L management skills.
  • Passion for craft beer and hospitality.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and coaching abilities.
  • Comfortable using spreadsheets, reports, and KPIs to make decisions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

Schedule:
  • Approximately 45 hours per week.
  • Five 9-hour shifts.
  • Sunday & Monday typically off.
  • Evenings and weekends required.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $55,000–$65,000

Performance Bonus:
  • Up to 20% annual bonus.
  • Quarterly payouts tied to financial performance, guest satisfaction, team development, and sales growth.
