The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven General Manager to lead all aspects of hotel operations at Hyatt Place New York/Chelsea. This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced urban environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences, building high-performing teams, and driving strong financial results.

As General Manager, you will serve as the face of the hotel, responsible for operational excellence, guest satisfaction, associate engagement, and overall profitability. You'll have the opportunity to shape the culture of the hotel while positioning the property for continued success in one of the world's most competitive hospitality markets.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team across all hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales, Engineering, and Finance
  • Drive revenue growth and market share through strategic collaboration with Revenue Management and Sales teams
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences that consistently exceed Hyatt brand standards and guest expectations
  • Maintain ownership of the hotel's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, expense management, and profitability
  • Foster a culture of accountability, recognition, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Partner closely with ownership and corporate leadership to execute strategic business objectives
  • Ensure compliance with Hyatt brand standards, local regulations, safety requirements, and operational procedures
  • Oversee property maintenance and capital improvement projects to protect and enhance asset value
  • Represent the hotel within the local business community and cultivate key relationships that support hotel success

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Hotel General Manager within a branded hotel environment
  • Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, profitability, and guest satisfaction
  • Strong operational expertise across Rooms Division, Sales, Revenue Management, and hotel support functions
  • Experience managing hotel financials, including P&L responsibility and budgeting
  • Knowledge of the New York City hospitality market strongly preferred
  • Hyatt experience preferred; experience with select-service or lifestyle brands is highly desirable
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered

Wage Transparency

The annual salary range for this position is $230,000 - $245,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification process upon hire.

This position is at a location where Hyatt is not the employer. The employer of individuals working at this hotel may be a third-party management company that is responsible for all employment benefits and obligations at this location.
