    Description

General Manager / Vice President (Plastics Manufacturing)

Location: Northern New Jersey / Greater NYC Area (On-site / Local Candidates Only)

    Position Type: Full-Time Executive Leadership

Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + Significant Performance Bonus + Profit Sharing / Equity Incentives

We are exclusively retained by an established, privately-held custom plastics manufacturing organization with deep roots in the region. Boasting a massive footprint (200,000+ sq. ft.) and significant open capacity across multiple shifts, the company services diverse sectors including industrial, medical, consumer products, and packaging.

Following a successful ownership transition, the business is financially stable and highly efficient, but under-indexed on commercial growth. The owners are ready to invest heavily in modernization, automation, and expanding capabilities. We are seeking an entrepreneurial General Manager, VP/GM, or President to take complete operational "ownership" of the business, unlock its vast production capacity, and lead it into its next era of market expansion.

    Context / Company

The organization is lean and technically elite. Day-to-day plant operations are currently managed by a brilliant, highly disciplined, and deeply embedded operational leader who commands immense respect from the shop floor and existing clients. However, the business requires a strategic commercial leader to drive top-line revenue.

As the incoming Executive Leader, your primary mandate will be to drive growth while deploying high emotional intelligence to collaborate with, manage, and eventually succeed the incumbent operational leader.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Commercial Growth Strategy: Devise and execute a aggressive growth strategy to diversify the customer base, moving beyond single-source reliance and penetrating new high-yield markets.

    • P&L and Business Acumen: Take full accountability for pricing strategies, yield management, velocity improvement, and overall P&L health.

    • Executive Leadership & EQ: Successfully navigate a delicate internal transition by coaching, managing, and partnering with a highly technical, strong-willed operational team.

    • Modernization Roadmap: Collaborate with ownership to identify capital expenditure opportunities (e.g., upgrading older hydraulic infrastructure to modern, high-velocity assets) and explore proprietary product development.

    • Client Relationship Management: Seamlessly step into existing major account relationships, offering executive-level comfort, charm, and strategic reassurance to ensure 100% customer retention.

    Candidate Requirements

This role is not for a corporate bureaucrat or a pure sales rep. We need a true business builder who understands the "grit" of custom manufacturing.

    • Industry Expertise: Proven, undeniable leadership experience within plastic injection molding or closely related polymer manufacturing. You must understand pricing, mold dynamics, and customer expectations in this specific sector.

    • Proven Track Record of Growth: You must be able to demonstrate individual contributions to scaling a manufacturing business (ideally in the $10M–$50M range). Be prepared to detail exactly how you grew a previous company.

    • High Emotional Intelligence (EQ): Exceptional leadership and coaching skills. You must know how to manage brilliant but rigid technical personalities without disrupting plant morale.

    • Local Presence: This is a hands-on role requiring a daily presence at the facility. We are targeting local leaders within the NJ/NY/PA tri-state manufacturing corridor. (Leaders impacted by recent regional corporate consolidations/mergers are highly encouraged to apply).

    Why Apply?

If you are currently a President or VP/GM at a massive molder and feel constrained by corporate red tape, this is your chance to run a business as if it were your own. The ownership group is collaborative, well-funded, and prepared to reward your success with a highly lucrative bonus structure and profit-sharing mechanism.

Confidentiality Notice:This search is being conducted with the utmost discretion. All inquiries, applications, and initial conversations will be held in the strictest confidence.

To Apply: Please submit your resume along with a brief summary of a specific instance where you personally drove top-line growth and operational improvement in a manufacturing environment.
