Due to a retirement, a profitable, successful manufacturing company is seeking a General Manager. As the General Manager, you will have direct and indirect reports and will report to the chairman of the board of the company. You will be responsible for supporting your team and supplying them with the tools needed to be successful. Daily responsibilities will include:
- Lead three managers, including assisting them with future development and mentorship
- Review monthly financials and complete final analysis
- Ensure profitability and continued success of the facility
- Continue to maintain and improve company culture
- Lead and manage all legal matters of the organization
- Participate in vendor review and selection
- Supply the tools needed to the staff to attain the company goals
- Initiate future strategic plans and vision for the manufacturing site
- Complete manager reviews and establish future goals for the team
- Keep the owners up to date on company progress and success
- Other duties as directed by the owners
Qualified candidates will be able to step into this site leadership role with ease and minimal overlap with their predecessor. The next General Manager will lead with integrity, honesty, be committed and respectable. Initial goals will include learning the business and the manufacturing process while building rapport with the management team. Skills required to be the next General Manager:
- A Bachelor's degree, ideally in operations, engineering, information systems, accounting or finance disciplines
- At least five years of successful experience being at the highest level of a plant, site or company
- Experience running or leading a small business, ideally with less than 100 employees
- Experience overseeing direct and indirect reports
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and P&L
- Working knowledge of bank relationships and handling legal matters for a business
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Skills preferred but not required:
- MBA
- Experience working for a privately held company
- Manufacturing experience
- Strong IT commerce and security experience
