Reports To: Head of Restaurant Operations 


Position Summary


The General Manager will lead Lani Rooftop Lounge with integrity, style, and a relentless commitment to customer satisfaction. You’ll orchestrate daily operations, champion our guest experience, and inspire a team that thrives on connection and creativity.


Key Responsibilities


  • Customer Experience Leadership
    • Sets the tone for 5-star service across all touchpoints—greeting, seating, ordering, ambiance.
    • Handle guest feedback gracefully, turning challenges into loyalty-building moments.
    • Train and motivate staff to deliver intuitive, personalized service every shift.
    • Ensure the environment reflects Lani’s seasonal branding and aesthetic detail.
  • Team Management and Culture
    • Ownership mentality 
    • Recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing service and bar staff
    • Cultivate a collaborative, guest-first culture with clear communication and accountability
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and lead team-building initiatives
  • Operational Excellence 
    • Oversee daily front-of-house operations and coordinate with kitchen/bar leadership
    • Manage budgets, labor forecasting, inventory, and vendor relationships
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations
    • Troubleshoot operational issues with agility and professionalism
  • Financial Stewardship
    • Own the P&L by meticulously managing labor, food costs, and general overhead
    • Analyze sales performance and pivot strategies with agility to meet revenue goals
    • Maintain rigorous standards to minimize waste and mitigate loss
    • Oversee precise cash handling, daily deposits, and register reconciliation
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Maintain transparent dialogue with ownership and corporate leadership regarding key performance metrics
    • Lead daily pre- and post-shift briefings to align the team on service goals and operational objectives
    • Manage detailed operational records, including logs and incident reports, with precision
    • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, HR, and supply chain teams to support holistic business needs
    • Deliver clear, concise shift summaries via email immediately following the conclusion of each service
  • Compliance and Safety
    • Verify that all team members maintain active ServSafe certifications and required industry credentials
    • Foster a safe workplace by ensuring OSHA compliance and the proper utilization of all equipment
    • Stay current with local health department regulations to ensure successful outcomes for all inspections
    • Strictly enforce allergen awareness and rigorous food handling protocols across the operation
  • Brand Representation and Event Execution 
    • Ensure all private event inquiries are meticulously reviewed, pursued with agility, and audited for precision
    • Partner with marketing and ownership to execute events and seasonal activations
    • Ensure visual and experiential consistency with Lani’s brand story
    • Advocate for innovation and elevate service in alignment with guest expectations
Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of management experience in upscale hospitality or high-concept venues
  • Proven track record in leading teams with a focus on guest satisfaction
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with emotional intelligence
  • Proficiency in POS systems, scheduling software, and hospitality management tools
  • Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and seasonal programming
  • Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time 
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
