General Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable General Mechanic to perform a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks on machinery, vehicles, and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery according to schedules.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and carry out corrective actions in a timely manner.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and machinery.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.
• Assist in installation or removal of equipment and machinery as needed.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform on-the-spot repairs.
• Collaborate with other departments and team members on maintenance-related issues.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance or repair.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems is a plus.
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environments.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Preferred Skills:

• Welding and fabrication experience
• Forklift or heavy equipment operation certification
