    Description

    Barkera is seeking a General Practice Veterinarian (DVM/VMD) to provide in-person clinical veterinary care in a collaborative, supportive environment. This role focuses on hands-on patient care, preventative medicine, diagnostics, treatment, and client communication—without advisory, influencer, or content-creation responsibilities.

    This position is ideal for a veterinarian who:

    • Enjoys practicing comprehensive general medicine

    • Values preventive care and early intervention

    • Prioritizes clear, ethical communication with clients

    • Wants to work in an environment aligned with modern veterinary standards



    Requirements

    As a General Practice Veterinarian, you will:

    • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and wellness evaluations

    • Diagnose and manage common medical conditions across life stages

    • Develop and implement preventative care plans, including:

      • Vaccination protocols

      • Parasite prevention

      • Nutrition guidance within general practice scope

      • Growth and senior wellness monitoring

    • Interpret and utilize diagnostic tools, including:

      • In-house and reference laboratory testing

      • Radiography and imaging (where applicable)

      • Basic cytology and pathology

    • Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans consistent with best practices

    • Perform routine surgical procedures as appropriate to experience and comfort level

    • Maintain accurate, compliant medical records

    • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners

    • Collaborate with veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff

    • Refer cases appropriately to specialists when indicated


    Qualifications & Requirements:  

    • DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school

    • Active veterinary license (or eligibility) in the practicing state

    • Commitment to ethical, evidence-based veterinary medicine

    • Strong diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills

    • Excellent communication and client education abilities

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based clinical setting

    • New graduates and experienced veterinarians are both encouraged to apply
