Job Title: General Production Worker – 2nd Shift (Press Operator)

Job Description

This role involves operating multiple rubber molding presses in a hot, non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility that produces valve steam and seal components. You will perform physically demanding work that includes lifting up to 50 pounds, loading and unloading rubber materials and parts into and out of machinery at or above waist height, and conducting basic documentation and quality checks. The position runs primarily on 2nd shift, with training initially on 1st shift and opportunities for overtime.

Responsibilities

+ Start up molding and press machinery according to established procedures.

+ Load and lift raw rubber materials into mold machines at or above waist level, including lifting up to approximately 5.5 feet to push in and pull out trays.

+ Operate 2 to 4 presses simultaneously once fully trained, maintaining safe and efficient production.

+ Shut down and safely unload machinery at the end of runs or shifts.

+ Perform visual quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.

+ Record production data on job tickets, including number of parts run, scrap counts, and other required information.

+ Use basic addition and subtraction to accurately complete production and scrap documentation.

+ Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while working in a high-heat environment.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area around the presses and aisles.

+ Collaborate with team members and trainers during the initial training period and ongoing operations.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly to heights of up to approximately 5 feet.

+ Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled facility where temperatures can reach up to 110 degrees during peak summer.

+ Basic addition and subtraction skills for documenting production and scrap data.

+ Ability to accurately complete job tickets, including recording number of parts run and scrap quantities.

+ Experience working in non-climate-controlled facilities.

+ Capability to perform physically demanding, repetitive tasks at or above waist level.

+ Willingness to work 2nd shift and occasional extended hours as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous manufacturing experience is beneficial.

+ Prior press operator or machine operator experience is preferred.

+ Ability to stay focused and productive in a hot, fast-paced production environment.

+ Strong reliability and attendance, especially during the initial 90-day probationary period.

+ Comfort working with point-based attendance systems.

+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adapt to training on multiple machines.

Why Work Here?

You will join a stable industry with strong financial growth opportunities and a clear path to increased earnings through shift premiums and scheduled raises. The benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with a structured paid time off accrual program that provides one week of PTO at one year of service. An unpaid time off program offers additional flexibility, starting with one day at 90 days and another day every 60 days thereafter, supported by a transparent point-based attendance system. The organization values long-term stability, consistent work hours, and the chance to build a reliable income through regular overtime opportunities.

Work Environment

The facility is a clean, organized, smaller manufacturing plant that operates in a hot environment, particularly during summer months when temperatures can reach up to 110 degrees. The production floor is not climate controlled, but there are numerous fans positioned in the aisles to help circulate air, while avoiding direct airflow on the presses. Work is performed primarily on 2nd shift, Monday through Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with optional 10- to 12-hour days available by adding hours before or after the scheduled shift, resulting in an average of around 60 hours per week. Occasional Sunday work may be required if production falls behind, and this is compensated at double time. New hires train on 1st shift (6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) for approximately two weeks before moving to their regular shift, and a shift premium applies once on 2nd shift. The environment is physically demanding, with work performed at or above waist level and frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds. The campus is cigarette-free, and employees remain on-site during paid lunches, with e-cigarettes and chewing tobacco permitted only in designated areas.
