Job Title: General Production Worker


Job Description


This role combines hands-on production and material handling in a fast-paced automotive environment. Production Operators assemble and disassemble engines, while Material Handlers safely move and stage engines using powered industrial equipment to support warehousing and shipping operations.


Responsibilities


+ Assemble and disassemble engines that arrive fully manufactured, following established work instructions and quality standards.

+ Remove and reinstall engine components accurately and efficiently using hand tools and production equipment.

+ Apply coolant to engines and perform leak tests to ensure products meet quality and safety requirements.

+ Work on an assembly line, completing tasks at designated stations and maintaining consistent productivity.

+ Inspect parts and engines for defects or irregularities and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.

+ Operate forklifts, tuggers, and cherry pickers to move engines and materials safely throughout the facility.

+ Stage, load, and move engines and materials to support warehousing, inventory control, and shipping operations.

+ Handle shipping and receiving tasks, including organizing materials and preparing engines for shipment to the customer facility.

+ Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of hand tools, material handling equipment, and required personal protective equipment.

+ Perform heavy lifting, standing for the majority of the shift, and completing physically demanding tasks as required.

+ Maintain a clean, organized work area and contribute to a safe, efficient production and warehouse environment.

+ Collaborate with team members across multiple shifts to meet production and shipping schedules.


Essential Skills


+ At least 2 years of experience in a production or warehouse environment.

+ Minimum of 1 year of machine operation and/or forklift/Hi-Lo experience.

+ Ability to operate forklifts, tuggers, and cherry pickers in a fast-paced warehousing and shipping environment.

+ Experience working on an assembly line or in general production, including assembly and disassembly tasks.

+ Proficiency using hand tools for assembly, disassembly, and general labor tasks.

+ Previous experience in shipping and receiving, inventory handling, and material handling.

+ Ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for the majority of the shift.

+ Capability to perform inspections and basic quality checks on parts and engines.

+ High School Diploma or GED.

+ Willingness to complete drug testing, including THC.

+ Ownership of or ability to obtain steel toe shoes or boots.

+ Ability to meet all physical requirements of the role, including heavy lifting, extended standing, and use of tools.


Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, MI.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
