This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who takes pride in building strong teams, maintaining safe and productive jobsites, and delivering quality projects.What You'll DoLead Field OperationsOversee day-to-day jobsite operations from project startup through closeoutLead and coordinate field crews, Foremen, subcontractors, equipment, and materialsDevelop and maintain project schedules, sequencing, and manpower plansMonitor productivity and ensure project milestones and deadlines are metCoordinate field activities with Project Managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other tradesParticipate in project meetings with clients, general contractors, and project partnersIdentify field challenges early and coordinate solutions to keep projects movingDrive Safety & QualityPromote and enforce VMG and OSHA safety requirements on every jobsiteConduct routine jobsite safety inspections and proactively address potential hazardsEnsure installations meet project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and VMG quality standardsMonitor workmanship and coordinate inspections and quality-control activitiesIdentify and resolve field issues to minimize delays and reworkMaintain accountability for company tools, equipment, materials, and vehiclesManage Project PerformancePlan manpower, materials, equipment, and other resources to support project schedulesMonitor daily production and field progressCoordinate material and equipment deliveries to prevent delaysTrack labor, subcontractor work, and project-related costsComplete daily reports, timesheets, job logs, and required project documentationSupport project closeout, including inspections, punch lists, and final documentationLead & Develop the TeamProvide day-to-day leadership and direction to field crews and subcontractorsSet clear expectations for safety, productivity, quality, and professionalismCoach and develop Foremen and other field employeesPromote accountability, teamwork, and strong communication across the jobsiteFoster a respectful and results-driven work environmentLead by example through professionalism, reliability, and strong field leadershipWhat You Bring5+ years of experience supervising commercial construction projectsCommercial HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical, or MEP experience strongly preferredProven experience leading field crews and managing day-to-day jobsite operationsStrong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, manpower planning, and cost controlAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentsStrong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction/project management technologyOSHA 30 preferredValid driver's license and reliable transportationPreferred ExperienceExperience leading large commercial mechanical construction projectsStrong background in HVAC, plumbing, piping, or related mechanical systemsExperience managing projects from startup through closeoutExperience coordinating with Project Managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other tradesProven ability to manage manpower, schedules, and field productivityWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation based on experienceMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and company holidaysOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesOpportunities for continued career advancementThe opportunity to lead challenging commercial mechanical projects throughout the Metro DC areaA collaborative, team-oriented environment where your leadership makes an impactWhy VMG?At VMG, our field teams are essential to delivering the safe, high-quality mechanical work our customers expect.
