With over nine decades of experience, Graham has the resources, capacity and expertise to undertake projects of every scope, scale and complexity. Join our team to deliver a better tomorrow.

We are seeking top-tier talent to join our Water division and build innovative projects, such as wastewater treatment plants, water treatment plants, water processing and control plants, and stormwater management. As a member of this collaborative team, you can expect a safe, diverse and inclusive environment, and on-going learning and career development opportunities.

About the Role:

Graham is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to lead all field operations on complex water and wastewater treatment plant projects in the Omaha region. From preconstruction through commissioning, you will own site execution and lead large multidisciplinary teams. From the outset, you will play a key role in pursuits and work-winning efforts, helping shape bids and secure projects while building long-term client relationships and market presence.

As a General Superintendent at Graham, you will:

  • Support winning new work with execution planning and scheduling.
  • Build out a team to advance self-perform construction on water/wastewater projects.
  • Provide senior-level site management for water/wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and process mechanical installations.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to support budgets, schedules, phasing strategies, and pre construction deliverables.
  • Develop and oversee construction strategies, sequencing plans, lift plans, and shutdown/tie in procedures unique to water/wastewater environments.
  • Ensure all safety plans and procedures are implemented, with a focus on confined space entry, chemical systems, electrical/SCADA hazards, and water treatment operations.
  • Coach teams on Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs) and Behavior-Based Safety (BBS).
  • Lead all site safety meetings and partner with subcontractors to ensure compliance.
  • Provide clear direction to staff and subcontractors regarding construction methods, schedules, quality expectations, and company procedures.
  • Foster a positive, professional working environment; resolve performance concerns quickly and decisively.
  • Represent Graham as the senior site authority in progress meetings, coordination sessions, and field-level dispute resolution.
  • Communicate and execute the Project-Specific Quality Plan (PSQP).
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds contract, regulatory, and industry requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractor quality performance and drive corrective measures when needed.
  • Support development and management of general conditions, construction phasing, and buyout strategies.
  • Oversee field budget components: labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor scopes, and change management.
  • Interpret contract requirements and proactively address field-level risks.
  • Lead project closeout, including punch lists, commissioning support, documentation turnover, and site demobilization.
  • Ensure seamless transition of completed systems to owners and operators.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in water or wastewater treatment plant construction.
  • 3-8 years of leadership experience as a Superintendent or senior field manager.
  • Proven success managing large-scale projects $20M+.
  • Preferably a degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of process mechanical systems, civil/structural works, electrical/I&C coordination, and municipal regulatory requirements.
  • Skilled in schedule management, risk mitigation, and conflict resolution.
  • Proficiency with scheduling and construction management software.
  • A collaborative leadership style that supports culture, safety, and performance.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Opportunity for ownership and increased income through dividends and share equity increases
  • Sharing of annual profits paid out in bonuses
  • Excellent Health & Dental benefits plan, Life insurance, AD&D. LTD and Flex Plan
  • 401(k) savings plan with employer matching upon eligibility
  • 12 paid holidays a year
  • 3 to 5 weeks of vacation per year, with credit for prior industry experience
  • Professional and career development opportunities
