Job Description: Manages large construction projects to ensure cost controls, schedules, quality, and safety requirements are met and that such projects are completed per design specifications and client requirements. Establishes project responsibilities matrices in partnership with leadership team including lower level/functional superintendents, craft foremen, project managers, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensures safety standards and regulations are followed and required reporting is completed. Reviews, negotiates, and approves change orders. Ensures that staffing, equipment, and materials are available for project completion according to established timelines. Develops and implements plans for project completion and turnover. For those with union projects and employees, reviews and approves the balance of forepersons, journeymen, and laborer’s composite labor rates. Engages with the firm's management, clients, and subcontractors in open communication regarding all areas of project completion. Advises concerned stakeholder Skills & Abilities: Expert knowledge of construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, etc. Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering drawings. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, and advanced ability to use construction-specific accounting or project management software. Advanced leadership capacity overseeing field crews (preferably those working on infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, water/wastewater treatment plants, etc.) Excellent ability to identify and quickly troubleshoot problems and issues within a construction environment. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. 12 years of related experience with at least 6 of those years in construction management/supervision. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Amount of Travel Required: 50% Heavy Equipment Operation Requirements: Heavy equipment operation and proper licensing to operate heavy equipment is a requirement of the position. Additional Compensation : All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position. Pay Range Min: USD $140,109.00 Pay Range Max: USD $245,149.00 Visa Sponsorship Available : No-We will not support sponsorship in the United States, i.e. H-1B or TN Visas for this position
