- Refer patients to medical specialists, social services or other professionals as appropriate.
- Perform surgical procedures to prevent or correct injury, disease, deformities and patient function while adhering to regulator, ethical and surgical standards.
- Direct, coordinate, or supervise the patient care activities of nursing or support services.
- Write patient discharge summaries.
- Conduct discharge planning and discharge patients.
- Communicate with patients primary care physicians upon hospital discharge to maintain continuity and quality of care.
- Prescribe medications or treatment regimens as appropriate.
- Order or interpret the results of tests such as laboratory tests and radiography (x-rays) and advanced imaging.
- Performs standard office duties, including excision, incision and drainage.
- Attend inpatient consultations in areas of specialty.
- Diagnose, treat, or provide continuous care to patients.
- Admit patients for hospital stays and surgical procedures.
- Participate in Medical Group meetings, Leadership meetings and Physician committees upon request.
- Other duties as assigned.
