About this role

As a General Surgeon at Riverton Hospital, youll provide PRN call coverage alongside a collaborative team of three surgeons and one APP in a highly regarded clinical environment with strong facility resources and access to advanced surgical technology, including robotics. Youll care for patients across a broad range of bread-and-butter general surgery, including gallbladder, hernia, foregut, breast, and colon procedures, with excellent support from OR, nursing, and ancillary teams.

• Provide 24-hour call coverage at Riverton Hospital for seven shifts per month, including expected weekend call
• Additional call beyond seven shifts per month may be available at an additional contracted rate
• Additional call coverage at Alta View Hospital may also be available at an additional contracted rate
• Optional 0.5-1 clinic day per week for follow-up visits

How we'll support you:

Compensation:

• $946 per 24-hour shift
• $1,046 per 24-hour shift for any shifts beyond seven per month

What youll bring:

• MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery
• Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
• BLS and DEA
• Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Healths credentialing process

Riverton is located 20 miles southwest of the Salt Lake Valley. It is a quiet community that basks with views of the Wasatch and Oquirrh Mountains. Once a rural farming community, it has now flourished into one of the most rapidly growing communities in Salt Lake County. Population is ~ 44,000.

Riverton is within an hours drive of nine world-renowned ski resorts and within a days drive of five national parks. Along with these recreational attractions, there are many cultural and sporting events within a short distance. There are performances by the Utah Symphony, Ballet West and Pioneer Theater Company as well as a renovated theater that offers Broadway plays.
