    Position Title General Tutor - Math Department (Part-Time) Position Number PTS-TUTOR-ASC Position Type Part Time Leave Format Staff Shift As required to support the program. Supervisor Title Director of the Academic Support Center Location Main Campus (Dobson) Job Description - Summary

    Tutor various subjects both in person and virtually via approved college software as determined by the strengths of the applicant and needs of the Academic Support Center Staff.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    A. Tutoring basic and advanced mathematical functions as appropriate for the department's needs. B. Meeting with students outside of class time to help them complete course-related work.

    C. Maintain documentation on the courses and times tutored and submit records to the Director of the ASC.

    D. Performing other job-specific duties as assigned by the Director of the ASC

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    • Ability to write using proper grammar and punctuation.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    • Knowledge of basic and advanced mathematical functions as appropriate to the department's need for such skill.

    CLERICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS:

    • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office 365 products. Familiar with Microsoft Teams application.

    OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

    • Understanding of and commitment to the unique nature and role of the College and to the philosophy of the community college system.

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Knowledge of subject area(s) tutoring
    • Experience/proficiency with tutoring college students
    • Interpersonal skills
    • Basic computer skills
    • Punctuality
    • Dependability
    • Accurate record-keeping skills
    • Able to travel to main campus
    • Willing to work in a virtual environment
