General Utility Worker- Kansas City CC - Facility Services

Job Description

Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a General Utility Worker to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming facilities for employees, guests, and visitors. In this role, you will respond to service calls, complete cleaning and support tasks, and operate equipment such as floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and riding vacuums. This is a hands-on position that requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work in busy environments with large crowds, loud noise, and occasional human spills. Shifts are flexible, and coverage may be needed across different days and times based on operational needs. Candidates with janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, environmental services, or facilities maintenance experience are encouraged to apply. Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment is a plus.

Job Responsibilities

• Respond to facility service calls and complete assigned cleaning and support tasks
• Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, common areas, entrances, and public spaces
• Operate commercial cleaning equipment such as riding scrubbers, carpet extractors, riding vacuums, and related tools
• Remove trash, replenish supplies, and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the facility
• Address spills, cleanup requests, and unexpected facility needs in a timely manner
• Follow safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals, equipment, and waste materials
• Work effectively in high-traffic areas with large crowds and frequent public interaction
• Assist with event, operational, or facility support activities as needed
• Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or maintenance needs to supervisors
• Maintain a professional appearance and provide reliable attendance

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or other hours as needed
• Ability to perform physical work, including walking, standing, bending, lifting, and pushing/pulling equipment
• Comfortable working around human spills, loud noises, and large crowds
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively in a team environment
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance

Preferred

• Experience in janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, environmental services, facilities support, or commercial cleaning
• Experience operating riding scrubbers, carpet extractors, riding vacuums, or similar cleaning equipment
• English-speaking ability preferred

Experience working in public-facing, event, healthcare, education, airport, stadium, or high-traffic facilities environments
