Position Summary
The General Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing a wide range of warehouse duties to support daily operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials or products. This position requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Inventory Handling
- Unload shipments from trucks and verify incoming materials.
- Accurately check, count, and record product quantities.
- Label, sort, and store inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accuracy.
Order Picking & Packing
- Pick orders using pick sheets, RF scanners, or warehouse management systems.
- Pack orders securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation as required.
- Stage completed orders in correct outbound lanes.
Shipping & Material Movement
- Load outbound trucks safely and efficiently.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other warehouse equipment (if certified).
- Move pallets and materials throughout the warehouse as needed.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all warehouse safety rules, procedures, and best practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Report any hazards, damaged products, or equipment issues immediately.
- Use proper lifting techniques and PPE.
General Support
- Assist with basic equipment operation, including RF scanners or handheld devices.
- Support team members and participate in cross-training activities.
- Complete tasks assigned by supervisors to meet daily operational goals.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse or distribution experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift 30–50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Willingness to learn and operate warehouse equipment (training provided).
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
