Position: Material Handler / Picker / General Labor
City: Elgin, IL
Shift: 1st and 2nd Shift
Type: Temp / 4-5 weeks
Job Summary:
We are seeking dependable Material Handlers / Pickers / General Labor Associates to perform a variety of warehouse duties including picking, packing, sorting, scanning, material movement, and general warehouse support. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and able to meet daily productivity and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick and prepare products and materials for orders
- Load, unload, move, and stage materials throughout the warehouse
- Sort, scan, label, and organize products
- Pack products and prepare orders for shipment
- Use handheld scanners and basic warehouse equipment as assigned
- Receive and organize incoming products and materials
- Perform general labor and warehouse duties as needed
- Inspect products for damage or quality issues
- Maintain accurate product and inventory counts
- Meet daily productivity and quality expectations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse guidelines
- Assist other departments and team members as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous warehouse, material handling, picking, packing, or general labor experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Basic computer or handheld scanner experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and perform multiple warehouse functions
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Comfortable working in an active warehouse environment
- Ability to safely move and handle products and materials
- Must follow PPE and safety requirements at all times
