General Yard Labor
Job Location: Sonoma, California
Job Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: $20-$20.50/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7am-5pm
Description of Position:
Do you have experience in General Yard Labor? We are seeking hardworking and customer focused General Yard Laborers / Yard Associates to support operations during a peak period at a busy home improvement retail store in Sonoma County. This is a hands on role working primarily outdoors in the yard, assisting customers, handling materials, and supporting daily store operations.
In this role, you will help maintain yard operations by stocking materials, unloading trucks, assisting customers, and safety moving products using equipment such as forklifts. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, customer interaction, and a dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Stock shelves, racks, and yard areas with merchandise
- Unload vendor delivery trucks and verify packing slips
- Assist customers by locating products and loading materials into vehicles
- Provide excellent customer service, including answering questions and handling inquires
- Operate forklifts and other yard equipment (certification provided onsite)
- Cut lumber, pipe, and other materials to customer specifications using power tools
- Maintain inventory accuracy using WMS systems and scanners
- Support receiving, stocking, and merchandising tasks
- Keep yard clean and organized (sweeping, stacking, removing debris, etc.)

You will be supporting a well-established home improvement company in Sonoma, California.
Experience Required:
- Previous forklift experience required (certification provided onsite)
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Experience in warehouse, yard, or retail environments preferred
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory systems (WMS, scanners)
- Ability to use power tools and material handling equipment safely
- Reliable, punctual, and team oriented
