Generative AI Prompt Writer

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a fast-growing SaaS company based in Nashville, for a Generative AI Prompt Writer to join their product team on a fully remote basis. In this role, you will design, write, and refine prompts that power a customer-facing support chatbot, shaping how the product understands and responds to real user issues. This is a hands-on opportunity to work at the intersection of language, product, and applied AI, helping define how a growing platform communicates with its customers every day.

Day to day, you will be deep in the details of conversation flows, editing prompt language, running structured tests, and reviewing chatbot transcripts to spot where responses fall short. You will collaborate closely with support, product, and engineering teams to translate real customer pain points into clearer, more accurate prompt logic. Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and refine prompts for a generative AI customer support chatbot
• Test prompt variations against real and simulated customer conversations
• Analyze chatbot transcripts to identify gaps in tone, accuracy, or clarity
• Collaborate with support and product teams to capture common customer issues
• Develop prompt structures and guardrails that reduce hallucinations and errors
• Maintain a library of prompt templates and versioned iterations
• Partner with engineering to test prompts across model updates and releases
• Document best practices and style guidelines for prompt writing
• Monitor chatbot performance metrics and recommend prompt-level improvements
• Stay current on generative AI capabilities and prompt engineering techniques

Requirements

• 2 plus years of experience writing, editing, or engineering content for digital products
• Hands on experience writing or testing prompts for large language models
• Strong written communication skills with excellent grammar and tone control
• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms
• Ability to analyze conversational data and identify patterns in user intent
• Comfort working in an iterative, test and refine workflow
• Experience collaborating with product, engineering, or support teams
• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Linguistics, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience
• Basic understanding of chatbot or conversational AI architecture is a plus
