The Flat Gold Project is recruiting for its seasonal exploration program in Flat, Alaska, anticipated to run between May and October.
Job Description:
The successful candidates will provide geological support for the upcoming diamond drilling program by collecting accurate geological data from drill core, assisting with the generation of cross sections and other geological interpretation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Primarily responsible for geologic drill core logging
• Accurate collection, recording, and synthesis of geologic information
• Ensure core is adequately clean, sample and sample box labeling are correct, and all core photographs meet the Company standards
• Select geologically representative core samples in accordance with company protocols
• Support field & drilling operations as needed
• Comply with safety & health, environmental, and Company policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology required
• Experience with MX Deposit software preferred
• Experience with detailed logging of core and documentation, preferably in gold deposits preferred
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Previous experience working in a remote exploration camp preferred
While performing the duties of this job, employees may be frequently required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time, use hand and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
This position is rotational with schedules varying from a 2 - 3 week on / 2 - 3 weeks off rotation depending on location of residence, working a 12-hour daily shift.
