Geologist - Seattle, WAMaul Foster & Alongi, Inc. (MFA) is seeking a Project Geologist to join our Seattle office. This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-level geologist who thrives in the field, enjoys translating technical data into actionable insight, and is ready to take ownership of project tasks and client communication.As a Geologist,You won't just collect data; you'll help drive projects forward. As a Project Geologist, you'll play an important role in environmental investigations and remediation efforts, managing day-to-day activities and serving as a technical resource both in the field and in the office. Typical responsibilities include overseeing soil borings, monitoring well installation, groundwater and soil sampling, aquifer testing, and vapor or air sampling. You'll coordinate subcontractors, interact directly with clients and regulatory agencies, and help ensure that work is completed safely, on time, and within scope.This role also includes office-based work such as interpreting environmental data, evaluating subsurface and hydrogeologic conditions, and preparing clear, concise technical reports. You'll support the development of scopes, schedules, and cost estimates, while also mentoring junior staff and reviewing fieldwork for quality and accuracy. As part of MFA's team, you'll have the opportunity to strengthen client relationships, contribute to strategic project planning, and continue growing as a geoscience professional.To thrive in this role, you must have...Bachelor's or master's degree in geology, hydrogeology, or a related field.4+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with a mix of field and project responsibilitiesLicensed Geologist (LG) or the ability to obtain licensure within one year40-Hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred or obtainable upon hire).Proficiency in environmental field methods, including soil logging, well installation, sampling techniques, and field equipment useFamiliarity with environmental regulations (e.g., MTCA, RCRA, CERCLA) and regulatory compliance expectationsStrong data interpretation and technical writing skills, with experience developing remedial investigation reports or site characterization documentsComfort developing scopes of work, cost estimates, and project schedulesExcellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing prioritiesA collaborative mindset with the initiative to lead field crews, mentor junior staff, and build relationships with clientsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) or Google Suite.Valid driver's license and ability to maintain an acceptable driving record.Who we are...MFA is a multi-disciplinary consulting company improving our communities through our work with our clients.
