Position and Responsibilities
Working within the geology group, you will be responsible for a variety of duties related to the exploration and development of in-situ uranium resources, as well as the groundwater restoration and surficial reclamation of previously mined wellfields. Office activities will include geophysical log interpretation and correlation, geologic and uranium resource mapping, generating geologic diagrams and figures, data analysis (drill data, uranium mineral resource, water quality), records research and report preparation.
You will also participate in field activities including coring projects (retrieval, preservation, description), drilling and geophysical logging operations, and groundwater monitor well sampling. There will be occasional travel to other company properties (North Butte, Crow Butte, Gas Hills) for related field work. Additional field activities will include the participation of oversight of deep disposal well testing and wellfield workover programs.
If selected for further interview, please be prepared to provide a technical writing sample. This may include any portion of writing completed during you education or any other applicable writings.
Successful candidate will be hired at a level appropriate to their education and expeince based on the company''s professional progression framework.
Education and Qualifications
Smith Ranch is located 30 miles from Douglas or Glenrock and approximately 50 miles from Casper.
This position is eligible to work 4 days a week, 10 hour shifts
Safety is a top priority at Cameco. Successful candidates for all positions that will involve work at Safety-Sensitive Sites or in Safety-Sensitive Positions must take and pass a Substance Test, which includes marijuana, as a condition of employment. Marijuana remains in a user's system for about 30 days, so applicants who recently used marijuana recreationally should not expect to pass a substance test.
