The candidate will have broad experience in supporting surface mining operations and the design and evaluation of waste rock storage, heap and run of mine leaching and tailings storage facilities.Job Summary/ Responsibilities:Performs specific and moderate portions of broader assignmentsPlans, directs and performs specific and/or moderate portions of mid- to large, complex projects under the supervision of an experienced senior engineer.Plans, implements, performs and oversees geotechnical exploration and laboratory testing programs (30% travel/field time)Plans, overseas and performs geotechnical evaluations including material characterization, liquefaction, seepage, slope stability, and settlement analysesPrepares and reviews calculation packagesAssisting with the development of geotechnical reports, drawings and specificationsPreparing and presenting technical presentations of evaluation results to internal and client teamsReview of geotechnical instrumentation and preparation of instrumentation monitoring reportsQualificationsMin RequirementsBA/BS + 4 yrs of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency or experience and/or education.Valid U.S. Driver's LicensePreferred QualificationsBA/BS + 6 yrs of relevant experienceMA/MS Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within 1 yearProficient in the use of industry software such as GeoStudio, Grapher and AutoCAD Civil3DProficient in the characterization of mine waste materialsField/Construction experience; tailings or dams experience a plusFamiliarity with and preparing design reports, drawings and specificationsExcellent Verbal and written communication skillsAbility to maintain organization in a changing environmentExhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibilityResourceful, highly organized, and detail orientedAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlinesEffective time-management and interpersonal SkillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAdditional InformationSponsorship will not be provided for this role.Relocation is not provided for this role.BenefitsAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
