DutiesPerform fieldwork including:Meeting with clients on site and performing field reconnaissance;Conducting geotechnical soil borings, rock coring, cone penetration tests and test pit investigations; andConstruction Monitoring;Prepare geotechnical design of foundation elements for bridge structures, buildings, retaining walls, fill and cut embankments, and fender system, including:Interpreting supplemental and historical soil boring logs and determining soil strata;Evaluation of soil engineering parameters;Soil stress analysis;Seismic Evaluation;Design of Shallow Foundation Elements;Design of Deep Foundation Elements;Slope Stability Analysis;Providing guidelines for ground improvement;Providing guidelines for construction considerations;Pre and post Construction condition survey;Providing guidelines for construction instrumentation and monitoring requirements;Drafting Boring Location Plan and General Subsurface Profile;Design services during construction including generating engineering responses for RFIs and reviewing submittals; andConduct Quality Control including review of geotechnical reports and fieldwork performed by others.RequirementsMaster's Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years' experience in geotechnical engineering or a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 5 years' experience in geotechnical engineering.Geotechnical design;Geotechnical fieldwork;Local construction codes including New York City Building Code;Local Geology;AutoCAD; andMicroStation.Accepting licensed and unlicensed candidates.
