The Unified School District of Antigo (USDA) is looking for a creative, collaborative, and dedicated Part Time German Teacher to join our team at the Antigo High School. Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be expected to:
Instruction & Cultural Immersion: Plan and deliver engaging German language instruction aligned with curriculum standards, fostering proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Create a classroom environment that promotes an appreciation for the diverse cultures and traditions of German-speaking countries.
Collaboration: Participate within the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) framework with colleagues and special education staff to support student learning and coordinate instructional strategies across the World Language department.
Relationship Building: Establish and maintain positive, respectful relationships with students and families. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, administrators, and colleagues regarding student progress, language acquisition milestones, and department activities.
Data-Driven Progress: Assess and monitor student linguistic and behavioral progress through ongoing evaluation. Use assessment results to inform instructional decisions, provide feedback, and adjust teaching strategies to support student growth in world language fluency.
Student Support: Support and monitor student progress toward IEP goals as applicable, adapting language instruction and classroom practices to meet diverse learning needs and ensure every student can succeed in a globalized world.
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
Bachelor's degree in German, German Education, or a related field.
Valid Wisconsin DPI teaching license (or eligibility) in German (6-12).
Strong classroom management skills and high-level proficiency in the German language.
Knowledge of second-language acquisition theories and student development best practices.
