Become a Girls on the Run Coach at Nathan Bishop Middle School
Girls on the Run is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Through our evidence-based program, trainedcoaches lead small teams of girls through engaging lessons that blend physical activity with social-emotional learning, helping participants build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop essential life skills.
We are currently seeking caring and committed adults (18+) to serve as Coaches for a new team at Nathan Bishop Middle School in Providence.
A Unique Coaching Opportunity
This coaching opportunity is offered in partnership with the Providence After School Alliance (PASA). While Girls on the Run coaches serve as volunteers, PASA will provide compensation for coaching time at a rate of $45 per hour. Compensation is paid directly by PASA, with payments distributed approximately halfway through and two weeks following the end of programming for the fall and winter sessions, and approximately two weeks after the completion of the spring session.
Coaches should also be aware that the role includes approximately 5 hours of required pre-season training, consisting of self-paced online modules and an in-person coach training.
No Running Experience Required
Girls on the Run coaches do not need to be runners. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds who are committed to supporting and inspiring young people. If you lead a healthy lifestyle, enjoy working with youth, and want to make a meaningful impact in your community, you can be a great coach.
As a Girls on the Run Coach, you will help participants discover their strengths, build confidence, and navigate life's challenges with courage and compassion. Along the way, many coaches find that the experience is just as transformative for them as it is for the girls they serve.
