Job Title: GIS Analyst I (Technician)
Location: Downtown Houston, TX (Onsite)
Duration: Contract



Overview

We are seeking a GIS Analyst I to support a high-visibility project focused on maintaining and improving GIS data accuracy and consistency. This is a great opportunity for early-career professionals looking to gain hands-on experience in a structured, enterprise GIS environment.

This role is fully onsite in downtown Houston and will work closely with a collaborative team to ensure GIS data integrity aligns with established standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and apply GIS digitizing standards to ensure data accuracy and consistency
  • Retrieve and analyze facility documentation to validate GIS records
  • Evaluate GIS database accuracy and overall data health
  • Transpose data from maps, CAD drawings, and other source documents into GIS systems
  • Identify discrepancies and provide feedback to improve data quality and processes
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and support continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
  • 0–2 years of experience in GIS or related field
  • Familiarity with GIS tools such as ESRI, AutoDesk, Bentley, Intergraph, or similar
  • Strong understanding of geographic concepts and spatial data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
