Job Title: GIS Mapper
Location: Lawrence Township, NJ
Pay Rate: $30 - $32/HR, W 2
Duration: 12 Month Contract
Work Mode: Hybrid
Summary:
- Editors are required to be onsite every day for a minimum of 8 weeks for training.
- Based on the editor’s ability to work independently, they will transition to a hybrid rotation.
- Once a week, there is a rotation for editors to travel to our sub-headquarters for print distributions.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the GIS model on the electric side, excluding gas work.
- Perform analysis and create custom maps.
- Process work orders into GIS and manage print distribution of updates.
- Handle some tabular data and analysis.
- Spend 5-10% of work time out in the field.
- Perform assignments related to utility systems construction, operation, and maintenance.
- Maintain the GIS connected model with data from various sources.
- Perform data analysis or queries to prepare reports, tabulations, charts, and maps.
- Produce standard prints and ad-hoc plots for field requests.
- Maintain service point data and its relationship to feeding source transformers.
- Track lifespan of utility asset data, including history and inspections.
- Resolve data, mapping, connectivity, and land issues through office or field investigation.
- Operate automated office equipment like printers, plotters, and scanners.
- Perform manual or computer-aided drafting.
- Operate a car or light truck as needed.
- Assist other employees in plant work, in the field, or in the office.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of GIS experience, either school or work-related.
- Ability to acquire a thorough working knowledge of company business applications.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles in New Jersey.
- Computer skills in MS Office and other Windows applications.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD is a strong plus.
- Open to candidates with GIS experience in school or internships.
