Introduction

This role involves editing GIS data and performing tasks related to the construction, operation, and maintenance of utility systems. The position requires on-site training for the first 6 to 12 weeks and weekly commuting to a secondary location.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to acquire a thorough working knowledge of the company’s business applications.
• Familiarity with material, equipment, and apparatus used in the work.
• Understanding of Utilities’ Transmission and Distribution systems.
• Knowledge of various operating and maintenance handbooks and manuals, including safety rules and practices.
• Capability to work at various client locations based on business needs/workload.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles in the state of New Jersey.
• Proficiency in MS Office and other Windows applications.
• Prior work experience at the client or in the client's industry.
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with GIS software and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in utility systems or related fields.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Perform assignments related to recording or producing information associated with utility systems.
• Maintain the GIS connected model with information from various sources.
• Perform analysis or queries to prepare reports, charts, and maps.
• Produce standard prints and ad-hoc plots for field requests.
• Maintain service point data and resolve conflicting data issues.
• Perform GIS work for major projects like facility relocations and new business.
• Operate office equipment and assist other employees in various tasks.
