GIS Specialist

An employee in this classification will provide city staff with technical, operational, and analytical date support; general service support activities related to the City's infrastructure with primary emphasis on the implementation, management, and support activities to optimize the use of GIS and asset management technology throughout the City; prepare CAD drawings, maps, graphs, and other pictorial presentations

Requirements:

• High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Michigan.
• Driving record must meet the City's standards for insurability.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, Computer Science or Engineering OR an Associates of Science with at least two (2) GIS courses.

o Diploma or Official, Sealed transcripts REQUIRED with application

• Three (3) years GIS working experience or a minimum of two (2) years of related experience in GIS management and administration, computer maintenance management system software or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge for proficiency in GIS operations and CAD systems.
• Certification in computer maintenance management software, GIS software administration or management or equivalent experience.

o Certification REQUIRED with application

• Within one (1) year from the date of hire, successfully complete ESRI Training.

Pay rate: $83,544/year - $90,011/year (After 3 years)
