Experience: 10 to 15 years of GIS experience, with a significant portion in the utility or energy sector.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, or a related field.
Core Software: Expertise in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial databases (Oracle Spatial, PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
Data Collection: Proficiency in advanced GPS technology and field data collection tools.
Industry Specific: Direct Gas Utility experience.
Mapping Specialization: Direct experience with as-built mapping.
Data & System Management: Optimize/maintain distribution network databases, manage metadata, and lead GIS software/hardware upgrades.
Leadership: Experience mentoring, training, and guiding junior GIS technicians.
Advanced Analysis: Perform complex spatial analysis for asset management, distribution planning, and outage management.
Cross-Functional Integration: Integrate GIS data with internal engineering, operations, and customer information systems.
