Position Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled GitHub Copilot / AI Engineering Specialist with strong hands-on expertise across the GitHub ecosystem, GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted software development, LLMs, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
The ideal candidate will have deep practical experience implementing and leveraging GitHub Copilot, GitHub Copilot CLI, GitHub Spaces, MCP Servers, and Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve developer productivity, automate engineering workflows, and build AI-enabled development solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize solutions using GitHub and GitHub Copilot across enterprise development environments.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on GitHub Copilot capabilities, features, integrations, and best practices.
- Implement and support GitHub Copilot CLI for AI-assisted development and command-line workflows.
- Work with MCP (Model Context Protocol) Servers to integrate AI models with enterprise tools, systems, APIs, and development workflows.
- Leverage GitHub Spaces and related GitHub capabilities to support collaborative AI-assisted development.
- Design and implement solutions using LLMs and AI coding assistants.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate LLMs, models, prompts, tools, and integrations for engineering use cases.
- Develop reusable AI/LLM-based developer productivity solutions and automation.
- Integrate GitHub Copilot and LLM capabilities into existing software development and DevOps processes.
- Establish best practices for responsible and secure adoption of AI-assisted development tools.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, DevOps engineers, and technical leadership to identify opportunities for AI-driven engineering improvements.
- Troubleshoot and optimize Copilot, GitHub, CLI, MCP, and LLM integrations.
- Provide technical guidance, documentation, demonstrations, and knowledge transfer to development teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on expertise with GitHub and GitHub Copilot.
- Expert-level knowledge of GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted software development.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot CLI.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) and MCP Servers.
- Experience with GitHub Spaces.
- Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI.
- Experience integrating LLMs with developer tools, APIs, and enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of AI coding assistants and developer productivity platforms.
- Experience with Git, GitHub repositories, pull requests, branches, Actions, and enterprise GitHub environments.
- Strong software development and scripting experience.
- Ability to evaluate, prototype, and implement emerging AI technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GitHub Enterprise / GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
- Experience implementing GitHub Copilot at an enterprise scale.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents, and tool calling.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with APIs, REST services, and enterprise application integrations.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience working with security, governance, and responsible AI practices.
- Experience developing AI-powered developer tools or internal engineering platforms.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on GitHub Copilot and GenAI expert who can move beyond basic Copilot usage and architect, implement, and support enterprise-grade AI-assisted development solutions. The candidate should be comfortable working with GitHub Copilot, Copilot CLI, MCP Servers, GitHub Spaces, and LLMs, while partnering closely with engineering and architecture teams.
