GL Accountant

Job Title: GL Accountant
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00
Work Model: Hybrid

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting functions and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare financial reports and support the preparation of financial statements.
• Review and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and other financial planning activities.
• Assist with audits by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support accounting and financial initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase operational efficiency.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
• Experience with account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong professional judgment and commitment to confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification.
• Experience with ERP or other financial management systems.
• Background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or audit support.
• Experience contributing to process improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.
