Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
• 12 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
• Experience in NAND commodity management (NAND technologies, SSD) and supplier management.
• Experience in industry analysis, cost modeling, quotation analysis, roadmap development, and supplier selection.

Preferred qualifications:

• MBA or Masters degree in a technical or engineering field.
• Experience with data center SSD/NAND commodities.

Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Googles bottom line.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $236000 - $329000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams to drive Solid State Drives (SSD) or Not-AND (NAND) technologies at key NAND suppliers.
• Maintain a level of industry and technology expertise as well as supplier and market conditions.
• Develop sourcing strategies for NAND/SSD and execute on them.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance in technology alignment, cost, quality, and delivery, negotiate agreements, and implement supply chain improvements.
• Address material management, shortages, and Clear to Build (CTB) activities, acting as the escalation point between internal teams and NAND suppliers.
