Global Logistics Specialist

Location: Los Angeles, 90065
Compensation: $85,000 – $110,000 annually (depending on experience)


About the Role

Reporting to the Fulfillment Operations Manager, the Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager will be responsible for and managing the daily transportation relations topics with the carriers. The Freight Specialist will assist with establishing carrier contracts and negotiating pricing. The sprinter will be responsible to work closely with the carriers to ensure that on-time delivery of orders is met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, interpret, and implement changes in international trade laws, regulations, and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions

  • Ensure company operations adhere to applicable local, national, and international regulations (export/import controls, sanctions, FCPA, GDPR, etc.)

  • Develop, update, and maintain compliance policies and procedures

  • Oversee import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing slips, certificates of origin, and customs declarations

  • Classify products using Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and ensure proper licensing

  • Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies

  • Conduct internal audits and compliance assessments to identify gaps and areas of risk

  • Investigate compliance violations and recommend corrective actions

  • Maintain compliance records and documentation for audit readiness

  • Perform product classifications of products under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) of the US International Trade Commission and

  • Stay up to date with import/export regulations as they pertain to our supply chain.

  • Audit US custom’s entries to verify the correct declaration of HTS, manufacturers, country(s) of origin, Free Trade Agreements (FTA), and duty rates

  • Create and maintain documented procedures for all import/export processes and freight forwarding processes to ensure that the company is up to date with trade compliance regulations.

  • Develop and conduct training for import/export processes to improve awareness of customs valuation, classification Incoterms, and origin concepts among fulfillment associates.

  • Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and similar 3rd party providers. Professionally resolve import or export issues as they arise.

  • Identify trends and recommend corrective action as required. In collaboration with the team, develop and provide periodic executive summaries.

  • Coordinate international shipments from booking to delivery, including manual documentation to include the number of goods to be delivered, delivery mode and ensuring timely and cost-effective transport.

  • Provide support and training of Company policy to employees.

  • Create and maintain freight reports for tracking shipment’s contents, location, costs, and lead time.

  • Provide shipping quotations and recommend the most efficient and cost effective modes of transportation.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree a plus

  • Hands-on experience with import/export regulations, customs processes, and international trade documentation (commercial invoices, HTS classification, certificates of origin, etc.)

  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), or Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) preferred

  • In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations including EAR, ITAR, OFAC sanctions, and country-specific import/export laws

  • Proficiency in trade compliance software and ERP systems (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, or similar)

  • Strong ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable business processes

  • Experience in classifying harmonized tariff codes and ECCNs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present compliance matters to cross-functional teams and senior leadership

  • High level of accuracy in reviewing and processing compliance documentation, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced global environment

  • Ability to stay current with evolving global trade regulations and proactively adapt company policies and procedures accordingly

  • Customer service and operation experience

  • Must have the ability to function in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment
