We’re looking for a detail-driven and collaborative Global Payroll Specialist to join our Global Payroll Team and play a key role in processing accurate, compliant, and timely payroll across the US. As a Global Payroll Specialist at Sage, you’ll join a regional North America Payroll team of 3 other payroll specialists responsible for the payroll of ~2000 US & Canadian employees, including end-to-end multi-state payroll processing while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and a great employee experience.


Location/Hybrid: This role will work in the office 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays) from our Lawrenceville office and 2 days from home (Mondays, Fridays)

Required Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of hands-on, high-volume multi-state U.S. payroll processing experience.

• Experience using an enterprise or high-volume payroll system and/or HRIS (such as ADP, SAP, Workday, UKG)

• Experience with Kronos or other time and attendance systems.

• Knowledge of payroll tax, year-end reporting, reconciliations, audits, and payroll corrections.

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

• High attention to detail with strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.

• Clear and professional communication skills (verbal and written).

• You're team-oriented and can provide examples of your effective collaboration skills


Preferred Qualification:

• Experience with SAP and/or ADP GlobalView.

• Canadian payroll experience (as a back-up to our Canadian payroll expert)

Key Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing: Run and reconcile high-volume, multi-state U.S. and Canadian bi-weekly payroll using ADP GlobalView.

• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure payroll complies with federal, state, provincial, and local regulations; support quarterly and year-end tax filings, audits, and reconciliations while safeguarding all proprietary, employee, and payroll data with strict confidentiality.

• System Use: Validate and manage payroll data flowing from SAP HRIS and Kronos timekeeping systems.

• Reconciliations: Perform regular checks on taxes, deductions, garnishments, commissions, and other payments to ensure accuracy.

• Issue Resolution – Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries, ensuring proper documentation and controls are in place.

Documentation & Controls – Maintain payroll process documentation and follow established internal control procedures.

• Customer Focus & Communication: Maintain a customer-centric approach, ensuring high levels of employee satisfaction and responding to inquiries via ServiceNow tickets, phone, and email promptly and effectively.
