LHH is looking for a Global Trade & Logistics Specialist for a permanent position in Charlotte, NC. This position is responsible for managing international shipments and ensuring adherence to customs regulations. The role involves coordinating with internal teams, customs brokers, and external partners to facilitate efficient import and export operations. Key responsibilities include overseeing shipment planning, documentation accuracy, and compliance with global trade requirements. This position is fully in office in Charlotte, NC Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities:
Supervise daily import and export activities, including shipment scheduling, tracking, and delivery.
Review import entries for correct classification, valuation, origin, and applicable trade agreements.
Ensure all operations comply with international trade laws and customs requirements.
Analyze trade documentation to identify risks, implement controls, and maintain the integrity of classification databases.
Prepare and verify shipping and customs documents such as invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and bills of lading.
Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
Work with internal departments to support smooth international transactions.
Monitor and manage costs, tariffs, and duties to optimize expenses.
Maintain records and audit trails for all international transactions.
Stay informed about changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and logistics trends.
Address issues related to shipping delays, damages, or regulatory non-compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, international business, logistics, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in import/export operations or international logistics.
Strong understanding of Incoterms, customs regulations, and import/export documentation.
Experience with ERP systems and trade compliance software.
Proficiency in classifying goods according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing documentation.
Analytical skills for assessing costs and logistics options.
Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Strong problem-solving abilities for supply chain and regulatory challenges.
Confident negotiator with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics management systems.
Strong communication skills for working with international partners and internal teams.
Adaptability to changing regulations and market conditions.
Cultural awareness and ability to collaborate with global teams.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
