  • Act as primary financial partner to Partners and client stakeholders on budget planning, spend optimization, and fee arrangements.
  • Develop, manage, and report on multi‑jurisdictional matter budgets in coordination with the Global Billing Coordinator, ensuring compliance with client OCGs.
  • Manage the end‑to‑end project lifecycle for large, cross‑border client programs across 50+ countries, with clear governance and reporting.
  • Coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams (internal lawyers, local counsel, ALSPs, technology) across time zones and workstreams.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, scheduling conflicts, and resourcing gaps.
  • Support client relationship management through regular reporting, governance meetings, and preparation of materials for partner and executive forums.
  • Prepare communications and presentations to leadership with excellent strategic analysis and insights.
  • Identify, implement, and embed AI‑powered and legal technology tools to improve efficiency, quality, and matter management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of financial management/pricing and legal project management experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or ALSP environment.
  • Deep expertise in legal matter budgeting, AFAs, outside counsel guideline compliance, and/or legal financial reporting.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to prepare and present to senior client and firm leadership.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, use of CoPilot (or similar) and AI tools for project management and workflow.

Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-jurisdictional legal budgets with meaningful budget responsibility
  • Experience in a dedicated client service or embedded legal ops roles.

Dentons

Dentons is launching the Nextlaw Global Referral Network, a revolutionary platform, which we hope to build into the largest and most expansive legal network in the world.

It is different than existing pay-to-play networks; it is free to all members.

Most firms either exaggerate what they can do to support clients, or use pay-to-play networks, matching clients with firms that have paid to be part of a referral network. Clients don’t get the right firm for their needs, just the law firm that has paid to be part of that particular referral network. Too often, the firm chosen for one location does not have the right experience that the client needs. Nextlaw Global Referral Network is free to join, and membership is based on the quality of a firm, making the network uniquely designed and built to provide the best service available anywhere in the world.

With free membership, Nextlaw Global Referral Network is also not limited to one firm in one city, which, in other networks, further limits the ability to have the right lawyer for the client's needs. The ability to have multiple firms with differing strengths in any city means that the firms in the network have more choices for their clients. In addition to being free and not limited to one firm, Nextlaw Global Referral Network uses a technology platform that makes it easy to find the right lawyer in the right firm, and promotes reciprocal repeat referrals. Repeat referrals not only generate more revenue for the firms in the network, they build incentives to always do the best work because quality work is rewarded with more referrals.
