About The Company

This is a private equity–backed platform building a national network of best-in-class trades businesses. Their Hartford operation is a multi-million dollar operation with a strong team, exceptional technical talent, and a loyal client base.

The Opportunity

This is a high-trust leadership opportunity for someone who can bring structure, accountability, and financial discipline to a highly capable team. You’ll inherit a strong foundation, but your job is to drive performance through real operational leadership.

You’ll be stepping into a team with institutional knowledge and deep trade expertise — but they need a clear leader to align departments, elevate accountability, and translate potential into consistent results.

What You’ll Do

Team & Culture Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team, including field techs, project managers, warehouse, and office staff

  • Build trust and buy-in from long-tenured employees while asserting operational control

  • Create clarity on roles, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration

Financial Ownership

  • Own the P&L and drive performance through KPIs, reporting, and strategic resource allocation

  • Partner with finance and central ops teams to manage budgets, improve margins, and support smart growth

  • Build cadence and culture around numbers — from revenue forecasting to daily ops reviews

Operational Execution & Change Management

  • Diagnose gaps in processes, performance, and leadership — and drive sustainable improvement

  • Implement structure across scheduling, project management, service operations, and warehouse coordination

  • Introduce new systems (if needed) or optimize existing ones for greater field and office efficiency

Client & Project Leadership

  • Oversee client satisfaction, proposal delivery, and project execution

  • Collaborate with technical advisors (former owners) on scope/design of high-value work

  • Ensure the team balances white-glove service with profitability and operational discipline

Strategic & Succession Planning

  • Serve as the long-term leader of the Hartford business

  • Drive recruiting, leadership development, and next-generation bench strength

  • Coordinate closely with national leadership on expansion initiatives and system-wide best practices

You’d Be a Great Fit If You Have:

  • 7–15 years of leadership experience in construction, mechanical services, trades, or adjacent fields

  • Proven experience owning a P&L ($10M+) and driving performance through KPIs

  • Strong leadership presence — you know how to earn trust from legacy teams and get results

  • Comfort with change management — especially stepping into a legacy team or family-run business

  • Familiarity with project-based services and/or technical solution selling

  • Operational discipline: systems, delegation, rhythm, financials

  • Willingness to be hands-on in the field while building toward long-term strategic leadership

Bonus Points For:

  • Military leadership background (officer or senior NCO)

  • Experience with private equity–backed platforms

  • Past success stepping into underperforming or transition-phase businesses

  • Exposure to both residential and commercial service models

Perks & Benefits

  • Bonus potential of up to 40% of base salary

  • Equity opportunity based on performance and tenure

  • Full relocation support if needed

  • Medical, dental, vision, 401(k)

  • Company vehicle and all necessary tech tools

  • Clear path to business ownership and long-term leadership
