What You Will Be Doing

The GMP Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of GMP cleaning and sanitization programs within regulated and critical environments. This role provides frontline leadership through operational supervision, shift coordination, labor deployment, schedule execution, and field oversight. The GMP Assistant Manager works closely with site leadership to ensure staffing levels, service delivery, GMP compliance, and customer expectations are consistently achieved.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining operational excellence, supporting team development, and ensuring quality standards are met across all assigned shifts and work areas.

This position is located in Devens, MA.

GMP Assistant Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide daily supervision and direction to GMP cleaning personnel and lead staff.
  • Coordinate shift activities to ensure schedules are executed efficiently and service commitments are met.
  • Monitor staffing levels and deploy labor resources based on operational requirements and priorities.
  • Conduct routine field inspections to verify cleaning quality, GMP compliance, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Support the implementation of technical cleaning and sanitization programs within GMP-regulated environments.
  • Assist with training, onboarding, coaching, and development of team members.
  • Ensure employees follow company policies, safety procedures, and GMP requirements.
  • Address operational issues in real time and escalate significant concerns to management as appropriate.
  • Monitor attendance, timekeeping, and workforce productivity.
  • Support investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, shift reports, and documentation.
  • Partner with the GMP Operations Manager to achieve customer satisfaction, quality objectives, and operational performance goals.
  • Participate in customer meetings, audits, and site inspections as required.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on accountability and continuous improvement.

GMP Assistant Manager Requirements and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience within janitorial, facilities services, GMP, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, cleanroom, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience coordinating labor, schedules, and daily operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of GMP, GxP, cleanroom, or quality-controlled environments preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of safety procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and web-based systems.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as business needs require.
  • Ability to walk, stand, inspect work areas, and perform field oversight for extended periods.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
