    Description

    We are seeking a Senior GMS Application Engineer to support 24x7 real-time power system operations. The ideal candidate will work independently with deep expertise in AspenTech OSI Generation Management System, power systems, and Aveva PI historian. This role involves enhancing situational awareness tools, supporting compliance with NERC CIP standards, and collaborating with generation facilities, ERCOT, and other entities.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Apply expert-level knowledge of SCADA/GMS systems and best practices.
    • Maintain awareness of ERCOT dispatch protocols and compliance standards.
    • Configure and support data/control communication using ICCP, MODBUS, DNP.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and maintain infrastructure.
    • Manage real-time data requests and event investigations.
    • Develop, test, and maintain SCADA/GMS applications and displays.
    • Implement real-time calculations, custom monitoring, and automation tools.
    • Monitor system performance and maintain security updates and patches.
    • Provide root cause analysis and lead incident resolution.
    • Support backups, restorations, and system failovers.
    • Mentor junior staff and guide technical work.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with OSI Monarch GMS software.
    • Familiarity with ERCOT market rules and modeling tools.
    • Software development for power system applications.
    • Skill in designing advanced operator displays.
    • Knowledge of power system control, AGC, and real-time operations.
    • Understanding of competitive electricity markets (ERCOT, CAISO, MISO, PJM).
    • Proficiency with Windows and Linux server environments.
