Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that employs approximately 114,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration, and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products, and services.What You Will Be DoingDesign and document the model and simulation requirements and architecture.Develop, verify, and validate complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom (6‑DOF) and effects‑based simulations.Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements.Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities.Support ground and flight test efforts, including Hardware‑In‑The‑Loop (HWIL) activities.Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers.Candidate RequirementsBasic QualificationsPost‑secondary STEM degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.Interim DoD Clearance required to start; must be a U.S. citizen.Must be willing to work onsite in a classified area or lab environment.Demonstrated experience in digital simulation development for infrared sensor systems.Advanced proficiency in C++.Advanced proficiency in MATLAB or Python.Strong math skills in linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations.Strong written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal communication skills.Desired SkillsActive U.S. DoD Secret clearance.Experience operating in Linux environments.Experience with Agile development.Experience performing technical GNC assignments, including:Developing and analyzing guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms.Developing and/or verifying and validating complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6‑DOF.Improving complex electro‑optical/infrared and/or radio‑frequency sensor models.Performing preflight system performance assessment and post‑flight verification analyses.Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real‑time performance requirements.Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines and software version control such as Git.Security Clearance StatementThis position requires a government security clearance; applicants must be U.S. citizens.
